Willow base and handle, woven with rush. This beautiful unique handbag begins with a thick 3 year old willow rod that is bent to form the handle. I weave a long thin base, attach the side willow stakes and weave the basket with willow and rush. The process takes two full days but produces a beautiful, timeless piece handmade out of natural materials.
