This decorative pine needle piece was created by me using traditional coiling techniques. After harvesting the pine needles in North Wales I dyed and coiled them with linen thread, hand-waxed with beeswax to allow it slide smoothly over the pine needles. Over two days I coiled and shaped this basket. This piece blends the ancient skill of coiling with modern shape and colour to  beautifully unique effect.
